Couples are required to contact one of our parish priests at least 6 months before they wish to marry to arrange for instruction and spiritual preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage. A wedding date cannot be set at St. Michael the Archangel Parish until after the initial interview with the priest.

MarriageTeam offers personalized, couple-to-couple coaching to help improve marriages through better communication, conflict resolution, and developing a more intimate relationship.
Marriage coaching is designed to provide couples with new skills and tools, focusing on resolving issues and restoring hope in the relationship. Coaching works well for husbands and wives who want to and are capable of changing. Bad patterns of communication are hard to change, but when teammates make good faith efforts to live up to their agreements, we see remarkable changes and results. Coaching takes you from where you are to where you want to be. Coaches do not give advice; they do help you determine what will work for you.
**If your marriage has issues with addictions, ongoing affairs, mental health issues, domestic violence, emotional abuse, or depression, coaching is not the best first step. Once these issues are addressed by trained professionals, coaching can be very effective in helping a couple develop an improved marriage.
MarriageTeam is a non-denominational Christian-based program, affordable, and has a strong track record of effectiveness, especially for couples considering divorce. They also provide a free evaluation tool to help determine if coaching is right for you. MarriageTeam offers both in-person and virtual coaching options.

Marriage & Grief Counseling
St. Michael the Archangel is very blessed to have marriage and family counselors who can meet with you on-site.
Marriage counseling often looks at the past to help you better understand the present. Counselors are trained to diagnose and tend to look at relationships from more of a medical model, where they diagnose and prescribe (give advice). As coaches, we often refer couples with addictions, abuse, mental health issues, and depression to counselors who are trained to deal with these uncoachable issues.

Retrouvaille offers a welcoming and loving space to couples who have been living with the misery of a failing marriage.
Retrouvaille offers hope: hope that it is not too late, and hope of a different, better marriage.
Retrouvaille helps couples show each other mercy by providing opportunities to listen, forgive, and be reconciled.
Couples can then move into the future believing that God loves them and, with his help and their efforts, their marriages can be healed and restored. Retrouvaille provides help for marriage problems/difficulties/crises.
