  Welcome to another year of Life Teen at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church!
  We are excited to journey alongside your family this year through prayer, friendship, retreats, service, discipleship, and authentic Catholic community.
  
  All teens are welcome to attend up to three Life Nights before completing registration. After a teen’s third Life Night visit, annual registration must be completed in order for them to continue participating in Life Teen!
  
  Registration is required for all teens participating regularly in Life Teen events, retreats, and Sunday Life Nights. Having an accurate registration on file is an important part of keeping our teens safe. It provides our ministry team with current parent/guardian contact information, emergency and medical information, and other details we may need while a teen is in our care.
  
  Registration also helps us communicate consistently with families and properly prepare meals, transportation, ministry materials, and activities throughout the year.
  
  If your teen has already attended three Life Nights and is not yet registered, please complete their registration before their next Life Teen event.

What is Life Teen?
- Life Teen is the high school youth ministry of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
  Each Sunday includes:
  • The 5:30 PM Life Teen Mass
  • Dinner and fellowship
  • Games, activities, and community building
  • Dynamic talks and small group discussions
  • Prayer, Adoration, and opportunities to grow deeper in the Catholic faith
  Throughout the year, we also offer retreats, conferences, Bible studies, service opportunities, fundraisers, camps, social events, and summer activities!
Why do I need to register my teen?
- Registration is an important part of keeping our teens safe and allowing us to properly care for and communicate with every family participating in Life Teen.
  Having a current registration on file ensures that our ministry team has the information we need while your teen is in our care, including:
  • Current parent/guardian and emergency contact information
  • Important medical, allergy, and safety information
  • Ministry updates, schedule changes, and announcements
  • Event, retreat, and activity information
  • Access to sign-ups and family communication
  • Accurate planning for meals, supplies, transportation, and small groups
  Teens are welcome to attend up to three Life Nights before registering. After their third visit, registration must be completed before they can continue participating in Life Teen.
  This policy helps us know who is regularly participating in our ministry and ensures that we have the appropriate information on file to safely and responsibly care for each teen.

- Life Teen is open to all high school teens in Grades 9–12.

When does Life Teen run?
- Our ministry year begins in mid-August and continues through early May, following the Cherokee County School District calendar. We take breaks during major school holidays and breaks.
Where and when do we meet?
- Sundays:
  
  Life Teen Mass at 5:30 PM
  Life Nights from 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM
  
  This year, Life Teen will officially move into our new upstairs St. Gabriel Meeting Space in the parish’s new building addition!
  
  We are incredibly excited to begin the year in this new home for our high school ministry.
Registration & Cost?
- Annual Registration: $60 per teen
  The annual registration fee helps support our year-round ministry and includes:
  • Life Teen t-shirt
  • Supplies and materials for Life Nights and events
  • Games, activities, and hospitality
  • Ministry and faith formation resources
  • Emergency and contact information management for ministry events and communication
  • Admission to Adult Faith Formation events
  
  In addition, each Life Teen family is asked to participate in our Family Dinner Ministry in ONE of the following ways:
  • Join a Parent Cook Team and help with dinner during the ministry year
  OR
  • Submit a $60 annual meal donation if unable to volunteer
  Our weekly Sunday dinners are an important part of building community and fellowship within Life Teen, and we are deeply grateful for the support of our families in making them possible throughout the year.

  A key aspect of Youth Ministry is fellowship around the table. "If you feed them, they will come." Our EDGE and LT youth are extremely grateful for the delicious variety of cooked-with-love meals that are prepared by our legendary parent-parishioner Cook Teams. This has been a beautiful, long-standing tradition at SMA. Ask your child - they vastly appreciate more than weekly pizza.
  
  This can only happen with the participation and support of all our EDGE and LT parents - the Cook Team Ministry is a VITAL part of these programs! As such, every EDGE and LT family will be included in the rotation of four-family Cook Teams to prepare and provide dinner for our EDGE and LT nights.
  
  We recognize that all families are busy and have many responsibilities, but in fairness, the labor of this necessary ministry cannot fall on the shoulders of but a few families. It can also not fall on the CORE team whose ministry efforts and focus are aimed directly at relational ministry with our youth. Teams can determine how to divide up each meal's prep, but no ONE family should shoulder the task of cooking for the night.
  
  Details will be sent in a separate communication and discussed at the first Family EDGE/Life Night of the year on August 23rd, 2026.
